Fujifilm D-EVO Suite OTCx Highlights & Benefits

The Fujifilm D-EVO Suite OTCx combines an overhead tube crane, elevating radiographic table, wall stand, high-frequency generator, FDX Console technologist workstation, and compatible Fujifilm digital radiography (DR) detectors in a configurable X-ray room.

Its overhead design provides broad positioning flexibility without a floor-mounted tube column. Patient-side controls, optional tube tracking, and automated exposure setup help reduce repeated positioning and setup steps during routine exams.

Key Overhead X-Ray System Features

    • Five-section overhead tube crane with 71 in (180 cm) of vertical travel
    • 10.4 in (26.4 cm) patient-side touchscreen with tube position and exposure controls
    • Electromagnetic braking and one-hand tube positioning controls
    • Elevating four-way floating table with an 800 lb (363 kg) patient weight capacity
    • Optional automatic tube-height tracking to the table and wall stand
    • SpeedLink automation applies preset X-ray technique and field-size settings based on the exam selected at the workstation
    • 40, 50, 65, and 80 kW generator configurations
    • Single- or multiple-detector Fujifilm DR configurations

The OTCx is built in the USA and combines manual positioning with optional workflow automation. Facilities that need a floor-mounted tube stand rather than an overhead tube crane can compare the Fujifilm D-EVO Suite FSx floor-mounted X-ray.

Overhead X-Ray Tube Positioning & Exam Flexibility

Extended Tube Travel for Table & Upright X-Ray Exams

The five-section telescoping overhead tube column provides 71 in (180 cm) of vertical movement for positioning across upright, weight-bearing, seated, and recumbent examinations.

Color-coded overhead rail markings correspond with tube movement controls, helping technologists identify positioning directions quickly. Electromagnetic brakes allow controlled tube repositioning and hold the tube securely when the positioning control is released.

Patient-Side Controls for X-Ray Positioning & Exposure

The tube head incorporates a 10.4 in (26.4 cm) touchscreen so technologists can manage key exam information while remaining close to the patient.

The display provides access to:

    • Source-to-image distance (SID), the distance between the X-ray tube and detector
    • Tube angulation
    • Generator settings
    • X-ray field size
    • Filtration
    • Automatic exposure control (AEC)
    • System and positioning status

The display rotates 90 degrees with tube rotation. A central handgrip releases the tube movement locks through one control, allowing the technologist to reposition the tube without operating separate release controls.

Automatic Tube Tracking for Table & Wall Stand Imaging

Automatic motorized tube-height tracking is available to synchronize tube height with the detector position at the radiographic table or wall stand.

This reduces repeated manual adjustments when moving between table and upright examinations while maintaining the required tube-to-detector alignment.

X-Ray Table, Wall Stand & Detector Positioning

Elevating X-Ray Table with 800 lb Patient Weight Capacity

The radiographic table supports patients up to 800 lb (363 kg) and uses a four-point motorized lift system for elevation.

The tabletop lowers to approximately 22.2 in (56.4 cm), helping with transfers from wheelchairs, stretchers, and other mobility aids. The tabletop moves both lengthwise and side to side, allowing the patient to be positioned beneath the X-ray beam with less full-body repositioning.

Vertical foot controls and available table-side hand controls provide additional positioning access for the technologist.

Upright & Tilting Wall Stand Options

The wall stand supports routine upright imaging with a broad vertical detector range. Right- or left-opening configurations are available, along with tilting and non-tilting options.

The optional tilting wall stand adds flexibility for standing and seated exams while allowing controlled, low-effort detector positioning.

Flexible Detector Positioning for Cross-Table & Standard X-Ray Exams

An optional tabletop detector holder supports cross-table lateral examinations without requiring the detector to be manually supported.

An optional rotating 14 × 17 in (356 × 432 mm) detector tray can also be used in the table and wall stand, allowing the detector to switch between portrait and landscape orientation without removing it from the tray.

Clinical Environments & X-Ray Applications

The Fujifilm D-EVO Suite OTCx is a full-room general radiography system. Its overhead tube configuration is particularly useful where broad positioning flexibility, table and upright imaging, and consistent DR workflow are priorities.

General Radiography & Orthopedic Imaging Environments

The OTCx is well suited to:

    • Hospital and health system radiology departments
    • Diagnostic and outpatient imaging centers
    • Orthopedic and musculoskeletal imaging facilities
    • Dedicated general radiography rooms where an overhead tube crane fits the room and workflow requirements

General, Upright & Weight-Bearing X-Ray Applications

The table, wall stand, and overhead tube support a broad range of routine diagnostic X-ray examinations, including:

    • General radiography of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities, and musculoskeletal anatomy
    • Upright and weight-bearing examinations
    • Recumbent tabletop imaging
    • Standing and seated wall-stand examinations
    • Cross-table lateral imaging

OTCx Digital X-Ray Workflow & Detector Integration

Fujifilm FDX Console for Image Acquisition & Processing

The Fujifilm FDX Console is the technologist workstation used for exam selection, image acquisition, image review, and processing.

Its customizable touchscreen interface provides immediate image previews and image adjustment tools while integrating the X-ray room with Fujifilm DR workflow. An optional secondary 2-megapixel display can be added when additional viewing space is beneficial.

Fujifilm Dynamic Visualization automatically analyzes the anatomy and image characteristics in each exposure, then adjusts image processing across the image to improve contrast and detail visibility.

Automated Exposure & Collimation Workflow

SpeedLink uses the exam selected at the FDX Console to apply preset X-ray technique settings.

When automatic collimation is configured, the system can also apply the corresponding X-ray field size and filtration. This helps standardize commonly performed exams while reducing manual setup steps between studies.

The FDX Console also supports:

    • Exposure index and deviation index monitoring to help technologists assess exposure consistency
    • Retake analysis for reviewing repeated examinations
    • Radiation Dose Structured Report (RDSR) compatibility for standardized radiation-dose reporting
    • Optional dose-area product (DAP) measurement for tracking radiation output

Fujifilm Wireless DR Detector Compatibility

The Fujifilm D-EVO Suite OTCx supports Fujifilm FDR D-EVO III, FDR D-EVO II, and FDR ES wireless detector families, including full-size 17 × 17 in (432 × 432 mm) detector options.

Single- and multiple-detector room configurations are available, allowing the detector setup to be matched to the facility’s exam volume and positioning requirements.

Compatible detectors include the Fujifilm D-EVO III G35 Panel and Fujifilm FDR ES DR Detector.

Compatible Fujifilm wireless detectors can also be shared with other supported Fujifilm X-ray rooms and portable systems, helping facilities standardize detector workflow across multiple imaging environments.

X-Ray Image Quality & Long-Length Imaging

Image Quality with Compatible Fujifilm FDR Detectors

Compatible Fujifilm FDR detectors use Irradiated Side Sampling (ISS), a detector design that places the signal-reading electronics closer to the incoming X-rays.

This helps reduce light scatter and blur before image information is captured, supporting sharper image detail.

Optional Long-Length X-Ray Imaging

The D-EVO Suite platform can support single-exposure long-length imaging with compatible Fujifilm long-length detectors and positioning equipment.

Options include the FDR D-EVO III G80i and the Fujifilm FDR D-EVO GL, allowing a long anatomical region to be captured in one exposure rather than combining several separate exposures into a stitched image.
