Biodex Pain Management C-Arm Table 870

The Biodex Pain Management C-Arm Table 870 is a powered fluoroscopy table engineered for pain management practices & facilities performing image-guided procedures. Featuring isocentric lateral roll to maintain image centering, a low-attenuation carbon-fiber top, & a 500 lb capacity, it ensures optimal surgical access & positioning accuracy.

Biodex 870 Pain Management C-Arm Table Benefits

The Biodex 870, part of the Mirion Medical imaging table portfolio, is designed for image-guided fluoroscopic procedures where stable patient positioning and C-arm access are essential. Its cantilevered carbon-fiber tabletop combines powered positioning with a low-profile base to give clinicians greater control over patient position without unnecessarily restricting C-arm movement.

Key Benefits

    • Isocentric lateral roll up to ±15° maintains the imaging center as the tabletop moves, helping reduce patient and C-arm repositioning.
    • Powered height, Trendelenburg, reverse Trendelenburg, and return-to-level positioning support controlled procedural adjustments.
    • Low-attenuation carbon-fiber construction supports fluoroscopic imaging across a large radiolucent area.
    • Choice of contoured or rectangular tabletop designs supports different procedural and imaging needs.
    • 500 lb (227 kg) patient capacity accommodates a broad range of patients.
    • 2-inch (5 cm) padding and three adjustable body straps support patient comfort and stability.
    • Low-profile stainless-steel base helps preserve clearance for C-arm positioning.

The 870 combines controlled patient positioning with an imaging-focused tabletop and base design, helping clinicians adjust the patient without repeatedly moving the imaging system.

Biodex 870 Isocentric Lateral Roll & Powered Positioning

Powered table movement is a defining feature of the Biodex 870. Clinicians can adjust patient height, tilt, and side-to-side position while maintaining access for fluoroscopic imaging.

Isocentric Lateral Roll Maintains the Imaging Center

The tabletop rolls up to ±15° while maintaining the center of the imaging field. This helps clinicians adjust patient position with less need to move the patient or reposition the C-arm.

Powered Height, Trendelenburg & Return-to-Level Positioning

The Biodex 870 uses powered positioning to help clinicians adjust patient height and table angle without manual table movement. Available positioning includes:

    • Height adjustment: 31 to 40.5 inches (78.7 to 102.8 cm)
    • Trendelenburg: 0° to 20°
    • Reverse Trendelenburg: 0° to 20°
    • Return-to-level positioning

Electric motors provide smooth, quiet table positioning without hydraulic components.

Hand Control & Optional Hands-Free Foot Control

The portable handheld controller allows clinicians to adjust height, isocentric lateral roll, and Trendelenburg positioning from different positions around the patient.

An optional foot controller operates all table motions and allows positioning adjustments when the clinician’s hands are occupied with other procedural tasks.

Biodex 870 Contoured vs. Rectangular Tabletop Options

The Biodex 870 is available with two carbon-fiber tabletop designs so facilities can select the configuration that best matches their procedure mix.

Contoured Top for Cervical Access & Prone Positioning

The contoured tabletop narrows near the head end to provide the access needed for cervical procedures while maintaining working space for anesthesia personnel. An integrated face cutout supports comfortable prone positioning.

Rectangular Top for Long-Leg Runoff Studies

The rectangular tabletop provides additional surface area for procedures that benefit from a wider imaging platform. Biodex specifically identifies this configuration for long-leg runoff studies.

Both configurations use a 97-inch x 24-inch (246 x 61 cm) carbon-fiber tabletop with the same powered positioning functions.

Supported Pain Management & Fluoroscopy Procedures

The Biodex Pain Management C-Arm Table 870 is designed for procedures where fluoroscopic access, stable patient support, and precise table positioning are required.

Fluoroscopy-Guided Pain Management Procedures

The 870 supports imaging and positioning needs associated with:

Fluoroscopy-guided pain management procedures

    • Cervical procedures
    • Procedures requiring prone positioning
    • Procedures requiring controlled side-to-side table positioning
    • Procedures requiring Trendelenburg or reverse Trendelenburg positioning
    • Long-leg runoff studies with the rectangular tabletop configuration

The table accommodates both portable and ceiling-suspended C-arms, allowing it to support different fluoroscopy room configurations.

Biodex 870 Carbon-Fiber Tabletop, C-Arm Clearance & Patient Support

The Biodex 870 combines a low-attenuation carbon-fiber tabletop with a low-profile base to support fluoroscopic visualization and preserve access around the patient.

Low-Attenuation Carbon Fiber for Fluoroscopy

The carbon-fiber tabletop is designed to minimize interference with fluoroscopic imaging across the table’s large radiolucent area.

Low-Profile Base for C-Arm Positioning

The cantilevered tabletop and low-profile base help keep the area beneath and around the patient accessible for C-arm positioning.

The table is designed to accommodate both portable and ceiling-suspended C-arm systems.

For facilities planning a complete fluoroscopy setup, MXR can also help evaluate C-arm systems and other imaging equipment appropriate for the intended procedures.

500 lb Capacity, 2-Inch Pad & Patient Restraints

The 24-inch-wide (61 cm) tabletop supports patients up to 500 lb (227 kg).

A seamless 2-inch (5 cm) mattress and three adjustable body straps help support and stabilize the patient during procedures and powered table movement.

Optional Accessories for Procedure Setup

The Biodex 870 can be configured with optional accessories to support different procedural setups. Available options include single or dual carbon-fiber arm boards, rail-mounted IV poles, a removable catheter tray extension, and head/cervical or thoracic/abdominal radiation shields.

The optional foot controller provides hands-free table positioning and is covered above. Additional accessory options and corresponding part numbers are listed in the specifications below.
