X-Cel 715-BD Podiatry X-ray

Category:
X-Ray & U-Arm Systems
Brand:
X-Cel

The X-Cel 715-BD Series is a dedicated podiatry X-ray platform for podiatry and orthopedic foot and ankle practices. Its patented Tilt-Head, 3.5-inch low base, 29-inch SID, and front-or-side patient support rail streamline weight-bearing foot and ankle imaging while reducing unnecessary patient and equipment repositioning.

Patented Tilt-Head for Foot & Ankle Positioning

The X-Cel 715-BD podiatry X-ray machine is designed around the positioning needs of weight-bearing foot and ankle X-ray exams. Its patented Tilt-Head changes the X-ray source angle while the patient remains positioned at the platform, helping operators move between common views with fewer patient and equipment adjustments.

Key Benefits

    • Patented Tilt-Head supports common foot and ankle views
    • 3.5 in (8.9 cm) low base reduces step-up height for standing exams
    • Front-or-side support rail provides flexible patient access
    • 29 in (73.7 cm) source-to-image distance
    • Wheelchair patients can be accommodated for compatible exams
    • Low-voltage exposure switch supports straightforward operation

The dedicated platform, support rail, and adjustable X-ray source make the 715-BD well suited for practices that routinely perform standing and supported foot and ankle X-ray exams.

29-Inch SID & Multi-View Foot/Ankle Positioning

The 715-BD combines a dedicated podiatry platform with an adjustable X-ray source to simplify common foot and ankle positioning.

29-Inch Source-to-Image Distance

The system provides a 29 in (73.7 cm) source-to-image distance, or the distance between the X-ray source and imaging surface. This fixed relationship supports consistent positioning within the dedicated podiatry setup.

Lateral Views With Fewer Equipment Adjustments

The Tilt-Head reduces the amount of equipment repositioning needed when moving into lateral foot and ankle views. It also reduces the need to repeatedly readjust the collimator between views.

3.5-Inch Low Platform & Support Rail

The 3.5 in (8.9 cm) base keeps the step onto the system low for standing exams. An integrated patient support rail provides a stable handhold and can be accessed from either the front or side.

Podiatry & Orthopedic Foot & Ankle X-Ray Applications

The X-Cel 715-BD podiatry X-ray system is built for practices that regularly perform weight-bearing and routine foot and ankle X-ray exams and need dedicated positioning for standing and supported imaging.

Practices Most Suited to the X-Cel 715-BD

The system is well suited for:

    • Podiatry practices
    • Orthopedic foot and ankle practices
    • Outpatient foot and ankle clinics
    • Specialty practices with dedicated foot and ankle imaging

Its dedicated design can support imaging workflows in independent specialty practices as well as larger organizations with dedicated foot and ankle services.

Weight-Bearing Foot & Ankle X-Ray Exams

The positioning design supports common podiatry and orthopedic imaging needs, including:

    • Weight-bearing foot X-ray exams
    • Front-to-back and top-down foot views
    • Oblique foot views
    • Lateral foot views
    • Lateral ankle views
    • Bilateral foot positioning
    • Supported imaging for patients with limited mobility

Low-Step Access & Reduced Patient Repositioning

The 715-BD combines a low platform, accessible support rail, and adjustable X-ray source to make patient positioning more manageable during dedicated foot and ankle X-ray exams.

Front & Side Support-Rail Access

The support rail can be accessed from either the front or side of the platform. This gives patients a stable handhold while providing more flexibility when approaching and positioning the patient.

Wheelchair Imaging Without Routine Transfer

The Tilt-Head can accommodate compatible views while the patient remains in a wheelchair. This provides another positioning option when stepping onto the platform or standing for the exam is not appropriate.

Fewer Position Changes Between Views

Changing the X-ray source angle at the Tilt-Head reduces the need to rotate the patient or make larger equipment adjustments between common foot and ankle views.

Exposure Controls & DR Imaging Options

The X-Cel 715-BD combines straightforward exposure controls with options for incorporating digital radiography into the foot and ankle X-ray workflow.

Low-Voltage Exposure Switch & Remote Key Box

A low-voltage exposure switch provides exposure activation at the system. An optional remote key box is available for room configurations that require exposure control from another location.

DR Panel & Digital Podiatry X-Ray Options

The X-Cel 715-BD can be configured as a digital podiatry X-ray system with a compatible DR panel and imaging software. DR panel and software options vary by system configuration, allowing MXR to match the imaging setup to the practice’s foot and ankle workflow.

715-BD, 715A-BD & 715-BDXC Configurations

The X-Cel 715-BD Series is available in different configurations built around the same dedicated foot and ankle positioning concept. The model designation can identify differences in the X-ray or image-receptor setup rather than an entirely different type of podiatry X-ray system.

715A-BD Standard-Frequency Configuration

The 715A-BD is a standard-frequency configuration of the X-Cel podiatry platform. It retains the low-base, support-rail, and Tilt-Head positioning approach while using a standard-frequency X-ray setup.

Practices comparing a 715A-BD with a 715-BD Series system should consider the complete X-ray and digital imaging configuration rather than treating the model names as interchangeable specifications.

715-BDXC Film/CR-to-DR Configuration

The 715-BDXC is designed for practices using film or computed radiography (CR) that may transition to digital radiography (DR). A receptor tray beneath the clear platform protects the film cassette or CR receptor during standing foot exposures.

For conversion to DR, the receptor tray can be removed so the system can be configured for a compatible DR panel. This makes the BDXC particularly relevant for practices planning a staged transition from film or CR to digital podiatry X-ray imaging.

MXR can help determine which 715-BD configuration and imaging setup best fits the practice’s current equipment and planned workflow.
