We recognize that clinical downtime is the primary concern when a coil fails. To support uninterrupted patient care, MXR offers two distinct pathways to get your MRI scanner back online.
Our exchange program is the fastest way to resolve equipment failure. Instead of waiting for a repair, we ship a fully refurbished, ISO-certified coil to your facility immediately. This process significantly reduces shipping costs and logistics while ensuring your system is back in service as soon as the next day. Once you receive the replacement, you simply ship your damaged core back to our facility.
For facilities that prefer to keep their original assets, we maintain a fleet of loaner coils. Subject to availability, a loaner can be dispatched to your site to bridge the gap while our engineers perform the full restoration of your specific equipment. This ensures you maintain your scanning schedule without compromise.
We have aligned our logistical support with our engineering milestones to provide a transparent, end-to-end experience. From the moment you notice an artifact to the final safety check, our process is designed for speed, safety, and clinical excellence.
Every coil we receive goes through a thorough diagnostic evaluation to find the root cause of failure. Repairs are validated against objective performance benchmarks -- no guesswork, just data.

Engineers carefully inspect the damaged coil for visible structural damage, connectivity issues, or electronic malfunctions. Following the physical check, our engineers perform electronic bench testing to measure tuning, matching, and decoupling performance. This ensures we address both visible wear and hidden electronic degradation.

Utilizing our ISO 13485:2016 certified quality management system, we replace faulty elements such as wires, capacitors, or connectors with high-quality parts to restore full functionality. This provides a reliable alternative to the expensive exchange programs offered by manufacturers.

Coils are moved to our state-of-the-art in-house paint bay for cosmetic restoration, as needed. This process involves specialized repainting and refurbishment that restores the coil’s aesthetics to like-new condition while safeguarding its surface and preserving long-term performance.

Before any coil is returned to your facility, it undergoes final testing to verify signal-to-noise (SNR) ratios and ghosting levels. We conduct comprehensive safety checks for potential hazards to protect both patients and operators, confirming the component is ready for clinical use.
